East Daley Capital (EDC) is seeking a driven and creative writer who will work with the Capital Markets, Commodity, and sales/marketing teams to communicate clear and concise, market moving data and insights through a story to clients and prospects. Additionally, the writer will also work directly with marketing and sales staff to develop content for media and prospect outreach. East Daley’s analysis draws conclusions from the complex relationships between fundamental energy market supply and demand data and asset- level financial modeling. The writer will have the responsibility for overseeing various delivery channels and mechanisms as well as the alignment of style and personality across all of East Daley’s written content.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need the ability to turn complex analysis into clear and concise takeaways while telling a compelling story to existing clients and prospects. This will require interaction with highly technical, numbers-based analysts, drawing out key storylines. The writer should have a basic understanding of crude oil, natural gas liquids, and natural gas markets with a familiarity of financial markets. More importantly, the ideal person has a high intellectual curiosity and an insatiable appetite to understand and drive clarity into written communications in order to perpetuate the EDC brand, value prop, and ecosystem expertise.

The writer will own the delivery of key weekly reports, collaborate in the development of new analysis and reports, and work with analysts to curate content in other commodity and capital market writeups. Additionally, the writer will be a key stakeholder/owner of larger annual and semi-annual figurehead publication. S/he will lead projects and small teams in the development of content. S/he will also be called upon to mentor, train, assist, and teach others in the organization.

This is a full-time position, based in Centennial, Colorado and reports to the Chief Strategy Officer.

Goals of the Position:

  • Write and manage the publication of regular weekly content pieces and promotional materials on products and services for the use by Marketing and Sales
  • Maintain an updated schedule and clear communications across stakeholders for content publication
  • Collaborate with sales/marketing and product teams to create innovative content ideas for delivery to clients and prospects
  • Cultivate a story from data and insights that helps hook in the attention of clients, customers, and media alike to drive engagement
  • Maintain a consistent style, tone and personality across all East Daley publications by leveraging the East Daley style guide
  • Perpetuate EDC brand themes, value propositions, and competitive differentiation throughout content
  • Look for opportunities to cross-promote new/existing products throughout content
  • Working with marketing to manage the communication of key analytics insights across social media, website and external platforms
  • Manage the delivery of East Daley annual market report
  • Provide training, coaching and guidance to staff and peers regarding effective writing style and techniques, in alignment with EDC guidelines
  • Collaborate with marketing to pitch articles to third-party websites for publication and guest post on partner websites
  • Research industry-related topics to understand EDC’s position in the marketplace
  • Own all KPIs for content, including determination, measurement, and communication to key stakeholders

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in fields of Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience freelance, content or agency B2B writing experience is preferred
