As CEO and co-founder, Jim launched East Daley Capital to disrupt a market by driving transparency in energy commodity and capital markets. On this mission, East Daley Capital has become the go-to, trusted source for the most accurate and detailed North American energy expertise by connecting micro-level commodity data with macro-level capital market insights.

Jim commonly refers to this as “connecting the molecules to money.” As a 23-year veteran of the energy industry, Jim’s experience analyzing and managing energy information and commodity risk for the gas and power industries has enabled him to understand the complex market dynamics that create market events. As a former co-owner and executive at BENTEK Energy, Jim built and led the research group that pioneered the standard for today’s natural gas supply and demand analytics. Bentek Energy was sold to Platts/S&P Global in 2011. Earlier in his career, he spent extensive time at Enron modeling large structured transactions in both gas and power, as well as trading natural gas.

Jim was recognized as one of the top CEOs for the 2020 Titan 100 and one of the top 50 executives in the Denver Business Journal’s 2019 Who’s Who in Energy. He has spoken at numerous industry events including LDC Gas Forums, the BENTEK Natural Gas Conference, TPH’s Hotter ‘N Hell Energy Conference and the Energy Information Administration National Convention. He has also been quoted for his energy industry expertise in several publications such as Natural Gas Intelligence, Platts, The Denver Post and Hart Energy and has authored articles on the energy financial market in publications Oil&Gas Journal, Oil&Gas Financial Journal and Seeking Alpha. Jim also currently serves on the Board of Directors at Navarik Corp.

Justin is the Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of East Daley Capital. With a passion for strategy and deep expertise in oil and gas market supply and demand, Justin co-founded East Daley Capital to creatively transform data and information into market moving knowledge and wisdom to drive client success.

In his role as CSO, Justin oversees the strategy for developing products and analysis that drive transparency in energy capital and commodity markets. He is the creator of Dirty Little Secrets, an industry game-changing annual report which breaks down companies by asset and provides market insights and due diligence across the entire energy market ecosystem. Prior to co-founding East Daley Capital, Justin spent over 15 years in data analysis, energy information, and consulting across the energy sector. He led the natural gas analytics team for Platts Analytics and was a senior member of the leadership team for Bentek Energy, which was acquired by Platts in 2011. During his time with Platts/Bentek, he helped execute numerous transformational market studies and led the development of hundreds of customized analyses regarding asset acquisitions, strategic planning, development projects and other market events in the oil, gas, and natural gas liquids’ sectors.

Justin has spoken at numerous industry conferences including the Marcellus Utica Midstream Conference, LDC Forums, and DUG, and has been quoted in publications such as Barron’s Midstream Business, Natural Gas Intelligence, and the Wall Street Journal. He has also authored articles on the energy financial markets for Forbes, Oil and Gas Journal, and Seeking Alpha. Justin has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Engineering Management from the Colorado School of Mines.

CPA, Chief Financial Officer

Lee oversees the accounting, budgeting and strategic financial planning for East Daley Capital. Her expertise includes accounting, strategic, administrative and leadership talents gained from over 20 years of experience in controllership and public accounting.

Prior to joining East Daley Capital, she was the U.S. Group Controller at a large oil and gas service company where she managed accounting for the company’s five US entities and oversaw the financial reporting. She also was involved in providing information for the public filing for the company’s largest operating group. Lee graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Iowa and obtained her CPA certification after doing accounting coursework at Drake University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Rob Wilson

As East Daley Capital’s Vice President of product , Rob manages a team of equity and commodity market analysts covering midstream energy companies to provide financial models at the asset level.

As a foundational team member at East Daley Capital, Rob’s expertise in financial analysis, financial metrics, energy CapEx and M&A helps clients understand the energy market landscape by giving them timely data to make better decisions ahead of the market and gain a competitive advantage. He has over 17 years of financial market expertise and previously served as Lead Analyst on the Acquisitions and Dispositions team at DCP Midstream. He also worked in the commercial banking sector at Merrill Lynch and led risk management consulting projects for financial services firms while at Protiviti.

Rob has spoken at several energy industry conferences including EnerCom, Marcellus-Utica Midstream Conference and Deutsche Bank Conference, and has been quoted for his market expertise in publications such as Oil & Gas Financial Journal and Midstream Business Magazine. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and earned the CFA designation in 2016.

CFA, Senior Director, Capital Markets

As Senior Director of Capital Markets at East Daley Capital, Matt specializes in analyzing natural gas and oil fundamentals including supply, demand, pipeline flows, and financials at the asset-level.

This includes researching specific gathering and processing systems and pipelines and understanding the contracts behind them as well as the flow volumes and throughputs of these systems. In addition, he understands the financial side of assets, which paired with supply and demand fundamentals, drive very detailed risk and upside analysis. Matt is one of the foundational team members at East Daley Capital and brings a wealth of expertise in the areas of natural gas and crude oil market dynamics, natural gas pipeline contracts and infrastructure and FERC Process and Regulation.

Matt has spoken at several energy industry conferences including EnerCom, Bank of America Conference, LDC Gas Mid-Continent Forum, and Stifel Nicolaus Energy Conference. He has also been quoted in Reuters, Natural Gas Intelligence, S&P Global Platts and other industry publications for his market expertise. He graduated from the University of Denver with a Master of Arts degree in Global Finance, Trade, and Economic Integration, a program that focuses on the complex changes in the global economy, including the emerging patterns of financial, trade and human capital flows and their effect on sectors and economies.

Senior Director, Commodity Markets

As the Senior Director of Commodity Markets at East Daley Capital, Ryan focuses on production forecasting at the basin and asset-level to help clients understand the key drivers and underlying fundamentals behind the assets and how that translates to financial outcomes.

As an early employee at East Daley Capital and with a family history in the Oil and Gas industry, Ryan has been instrumental in formulating the methodology around the company’s allocation model to holistically balance a basin including which producers are feeding which asset. He has also created many of the company’s supply forecasts for upstream assets in the midstream space including gathering systems, upstream pipelines and well head product details. He has 15 years of experience analyzing commodity research and managing oil field operations including serving as a Senior Energy Analyst at Bentek Energy where he conducted basin-level and project-specific forecasts. Prior to Bentek, he gained oilfield experience by monitoring lease compliance, well performance, and workovers as a project director. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from Colorado State University.

As East Daley Capital’s Senior Director of Commodity Markets, Andy is focused on synthesizing data and information from E&P and midstream companies to quantify the impact on the energy sector and to provide faster, more accurate answers for investors.

As an early member on the East Daley Capital team, Andy pioneered many of the original modeling efforts for both detailed company financials and commodity markets to bring a holistic view of the opportunities and risks. He has over 10 years of experience helping E&P and midstream companies and investors achieve their business objectives. Prior to joining East Daley Capital, Andy was a Senior Consultant with Agility Solutions, a business management consulting firm, where he provided accounting services for multiple Denver-based E&P and midstream companies. Andy is a licensed CPA in the state of Colorado and a licensed Project Management Professional. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Kansas State University.
